This is an article written with my friend, photographer Greg Haas, of Placerville, CA. We submitted the article to the oldest Californian newspaper, the Mountain Democrat, but it was rejected as too contentious.

On Spring St. around 4 o’clock Thursday afternoon, a local Placerville woman was discovered face down in the middle of the road.
The woman’s face was bloody and covered in glass shards from a large broken bottle of vodka which she fell onto during her fall. She was lying in a mixture of vodka, glass and blood when found.
Police arrived shortly after her fall and awoke her from an inebriated stupor. The woman was incoherent and disoriented and had difficulty responding to questions.
Although her head injury was not severe, as a precautionary measure an ambulance arrived to carry her away on a stretcher.
